This past year has been a rough one  for the entire world.  I am sure you have read about the health impact  as well as the  financial one to everyone’s lives.  Besides that Covid has affected our way of leaving and many people could not enjoy little things in everyday life , our hobbies became hard to enjoy. That of course included me also, I was lucky enough to stay healthy but my two main hobbies Photography and plane spotting were put on hold. Especially Plane spotting had a  difficult year with every major Airshow cancelled and all flights schedules shrank like never  before. When we were allowed to visit places One of my Favorite places to Visit annually was Andravida air base to attend the  Multinational exercise Iniochos. 

Exercise “INIOCHOS” is an annual medium scale exercise (type INVITEX) based on the facilities of the AIR TACTICS CENTER at the Andravida Air Base, located in the Northwest Peloponnese.

Unfortunately last years exercise was cancelled  but Iniochos 2021 was given the green light for 2021 (12/04-22/04). Awesome news for my fellow spotters. 

Invitations were sent to to us a month before the event with information’s  about all Health protocols that had to be applied.

Every participant on spotters side had to provide a Negative 48 hours PCR test and we were obligated to wear a mask(FFP2) for the entire time of our presence inside the Airbase facilities. 

Having said all that it was a memorable experience once more, I enjoyed the aircrafts as much as I enjoyed the company of my friends, some of  those I  hadn’t seen for a long time.  After a spotting session of almost 10 hours  we returned home with a feeling of satisfaction and happiness . That feeling is priceless and unfortunately covid issue has reminded to all of us that we shouldn’t  take things for granted in life. Hopefully next years thing will be better and we will get to enjoy  The 2022 Iniochos free.

 We renewed our rendezvous for Iniochos 2022  and who knows we might be up for a second big surprise next year  around the Peloponnese area.

• Spain with F/A-18 Hornet
• Israel with F-15 and F-16
• Cyprus with helicopter AW139

Also as observers : Austria , Egypt , Jordan, Romania and Slovenia.
